Founded in early 2025 at Kenyon College, Lacuna is a national literary publication dedicated to publishing innovative, boundary-pushing and conversation-defining creative and academic works by young writers. In an industry dominated by those with terminal degrees, Lacuna provides future professionals with a platform into the current literary conversation amongst their peers to create genuine dialogue and collaboration, as well as an opportunity to showcase their work to a national audience. Lacuna also offers pre-professional programs and workshops in partnership with literary faculty, organizations and local resources to support further growth and development, as well as providing hands-on publishing experience at all levels

    Celia Torino

    Managing Editor

Celia Torino '27 is an English and philosophy double major, invested in the interplay between aesthetics and ideas, and in publishing as a space for critical, creative inquiry. She also serves as Managing Editor for Fashion In Trend (F.I.T.) Magazine, where she helps shape editorial vision and guide content from concept to final layout. A former softball player turned backstage theater enthusiast, she found her rhythm in the behind-the-scenes work that brings creative projects to life. Her philosophical background has made her love editorial work — asking questions, challenging standards, helping someone build up their narrative, their voice! During the 2025-26 academic year, she'll be studying abroad, continuing to explore English and philosophy from an international perspective, but hopes to be reelected for her senior year. She approaches editing as a collaborative and careful practice — one that values clarity, voice, and the meaningful friction of what doesn’t quite fit.
